Live casino in Belgium: the tables where a real dealer runs the game

On every licensed Belgian site, the live casino section makes the same promise: a spinning wheel, a filmed table, someone on screen. These sections look alike, yet they do not offer the same thing. Of all the online licences currently in force, only nine allow a real dealer behind the table, one who deals the cards and launches the ball by hand.

On 13 October I went through the live sections of five sites, two holding an A+ licence and three a B+ licence, then Betsson’s on 20 October, the day of its audit. That same day I reread the Gaming Commission’s register, in its version of 16 October. This page shows where to find a table with a dealer, what you get elsewhere under the same name, and how to tell the two apart in a few seconds.

Ladbrokes and Betsson: the A+ live casinos I audited

Of the nine A+ holders, two have been through my full review: Ladbrokes, attached to the Grand Casino de Dinant, which scores 78 out of 100, and Betsson, the former betFIRST, tied to the Middelkerke casino, which scores 77. They alone carry a button on this page, because I do not recommend a site whose documents I have not read.

Its live section puts a real dealer and real opponents front and centre. The footer notes that the Gaming Commission granted the A+ licence in 2019, through the Dinant casino.

Worth knowing: during my audit, its help pages gave three different withdrawal times without saying which one prevails.

Its live casino sets aside tables in the brand’s own colours, supplied by Pragmatic Play, next to the usual ones. Its footer shows two numbers: A595153 for the Middelkerke casino and A+595153 for its online extension.

Worth knowing: disputes are routed to a mediator, and the terms leave the Gaming Commission out of the picture.

The Ladbrokes button is an affiliate link: if you open an account through it, I receive a commission. The Betsson button leads to its home page, with no commercial agreement at this stage. Both appear here because I have audited them, and no payment changes what is written about them, reservations included.

The Ladbrokes live section covers roulette, blackjack, baccarat, table poker, sic bo and game shows. Some tables carry its own name, such as Ladbrokes Roulette and Ladbrokes French Roulette, next to familiar formats like Free Bet Blackjack, Speed Baccarat or Casino Hold’em.

One reservation, all the same. During my audit, its help pages gave three withdrawal times that contradict each other: anything up to three working days, between one and three days, then an instant payment once approved. I could not establish which one applies. If payout speed matters to you, look first at the Belgian casinos that pay winnings out within minutes.

Betsson, the former betFIRST, avoids that confusion: its help centre gives a time for each withdrawal method. Its weak point lies elsewhere, since a transaction can no longer be disputed after six months.

Online live casino or automated table: who touches the cards?

On an A+ site, the person on screen is a dealer in the full sense of the word. They shuffle, deal, launch the ball and collect the losing bets. Ladbrokes promises a real dealer facing real players on its live page, and Bwin’s English page invites you to “get dealt cards from a friendly live dealer”.

On a B+ site, the table may be filmed, the wheel may be physical, and a real presenter may host the game. But the presenter touches nothing: the ball is launched automatically, the cards never pass through their hands, and the game itself stays automated. The reason lies in the licence. A B+ extends a gaming hall, and the law limits an online licence to games of the same nature as those of the venue that holds it.

The name of the section will not help you, and neither will the name of the game. The same studios supply both licences: Red Door Roulette appears at Bwin as well as at Golden Palace, and Speed Auto Roulette at Bwin, PlayOne and Golden Palace. Even the word croupier turns up on B+ pages, where it refers to whoever hosts the table. Only the gesture settles it: if the hand dealing belongs to a person, you are at an A+.

The nine licensed live casinos in Belgium

The law caps the number of A licences, those of land-based casinos, at nine, and all nine have been granted. Each carries at most one online A+ licence. The list below is therefore complete, and it cannot grow as long as the cap stays where it is: to find out which Belgian casinos are actually new, you need to look at the B+ side.

Two rows call for a note. Betano’s licence expires on 31 December 2026, the earliest of the nine. And the Circus licence also covers a second consumer site, PokerStars, under the same authorisation.

Five of these brands, Napoleon, Circus, Starcasino, Bwin and Ladbrokes, also run a dice site under a separate B+ licence. You will not find a dealer there, since an online dice games site follows the categories of gaming halls, not those of a casino.

The live casino games you will find at the tables

Roulette comes first everywhere. At A+ holders it comes in a classic single-zero version, a French version and multiplier variants, where some numbers randomly receive a boosted payout. Bwin adds tables with Dutch in their name, such as Bwin Dutch Roulette and Dutch Blackjack, and says its live casino is open 24/7.

Blackjack follows closely, with tables that have a limited number of seats and formats where any number of players can join. Baccarat, table poker and sic bo round out the offer. Game shows form a category of their own, with a giant wheel or a ball draw and a presenter in a studio.

Betting limits are shown table by table, and at the same operator they vary from one table to the next. None of the pages I consulted publishes a common grid, so check the table’s limits before you take a seat.

Playing live casino online on a B+ site: what you get

The section also exists at the B+ holders, and it is far from an empty shell. Golden Palace lists around twenty titles there from five studios, including Evolution, Pragmatic Play and Ezugi, with roulettes, sic bo, Bac Bo and blackjack tables. PlayOne features Auto Roulette, Speed Auto Roulette and Auto Mega Roulette among others, and PepperMill highlights a roulette from Evolution.

What you get is a real wheel or shaker filmed non-stop, often a presenter commenting, and rounds that follow one another at any hour. What you do not get is a human hand on the game. Even at the blackjack table, the presenter does not deal.

PlayOne draws the line itself in its FAQ: a live game is filmed in a studio with a host, while an automatic game runs without any video feed. For many players, that format is enough. If what you want is to sit across from a dealer, you need one of the nine sites in the table.

Casino live games in Belgium: the rules every licence shares

A+ or B+, the protections are the same. The minimum age is twenty-one for all online casino games, your identity is checked before your first deposit, and every registration is checked against the register of excluded persons. Deposits are capped at €200 a week by default, and that cap can only be raised after a check with the Central Individual Credit Register.

Getting started is often cheap: Ladbrokes and Betsson accept a first deposit of €10, and the minimum deposit at other Belgian casinos sometimes goes lower still. These rules come with the licence, not the brand. What makes a Belgian casino legal applies to every licences; what sets them apart is found in their terms, their timeframes and the way they handle a complaint.

Frequently asked questions

Does the €200 weekly limit also apply to the live casino?

Yes. It covers the money you deposit, whatever the game: what you stake at a live table comes out of the same balance as everything else. Each table’s betting limits come on top of it without replacing it.

Is the live casino open at any hour?

Largely, yes. Bwin says its live section is open 24/7, and the automated tables on B+ sites also run non-stop. A specific table can still close or change its limits: its status shows in the lobby before you sit down.

Do live tables have a return to player?

Yes, set by the rules of the game. A European single-zero roulette returns 97.30% of stakes in theory, with or without a dealer. Multiplier variants set their own rate, shown in each table’s help window.

What happens to Betano’s live casino after 31 December 2026?

The register does not say yet. It gives that date as the expiry of its A+ licence, and an online licence is renewed together with that of the land-based casino holding it, in this case Viage. I will update this page as soon as the register changes.

Sources and caveats

  • Gaming Commission register of A+ licences, in its version of 16 October 2026
  • Gambling Act of 7 May 1999, article 43/8, for the rule on games of the same nature
  • Live sections consulted on 13 and 14 October 2026: Bwin in its English version, and in their French versions Ladbrokes, PlayOne, Golden Palace and PepperMill
  • Betsson Casino’s home page and live section, consulted on 20 October 2026, and its terms and conditions (version 2.2)

I did not play a single round to write this page. It reports what the register shows and what the operators publish, and their catalogues change from week to week. So far, two of the nine A+ holders have had a full audit: Ladbrokes and Betsson.

I reread the licence register every month and update the table whenever something changes, starting with Betano’s expiry date. Has a live section changed, or does a figure look wrong to you? Let me know which page it is: I will fix it and add the date of the fix.
