You’re reading a site that scores casinos. The least you should expect is to know who holds the pen. I’m Arthur D, and I write everything you’ll find on CasinAudit: the audits, the guides and the methodology itself.

A site run by one person, and that’s stated plainly

CasinAudit isn’t a newsroom. There’s no editorial board and no testing team: there’s me, researching, verifying and writing every page. I’d rather put that in writing than hide behind a “we” that would suggest a bigger operation than there is.

That setup has one advantage and one limitation, and both deserve stating. The advantage: a single person applies the same criteria to every operator, with no variation from one writer to the next, and stands behind every score published. The limitation: the publishing pace is one person’s, not a team’s, and I can’t cover an entire market at once.

My background and what I actually know

I’ve worked in online gambling for three years, on the content side: research, verification and writing. My main ground is the Belgian market, and specifically the question that shapes this site — what separates a licensed operator, regulated by the Gaming Commission, from a site operating at the margins.

I know that framework in detail: the class-based licensing system, the requirement for a land-based anchor, the minimum age of 21, the weekly deposit cap, the EPIS exclusion register. Those are the mechanisms that decide whether a Belgian player has real recourse, or none at all.

I’m gradually widening to other regulated markets, starting with Switzerland and the Netherlands, which have made different regulatory choices from ours. Those pages will come when I know them well enough to write them without guesswork — not before.

Why I write under a pen name

Arthur D is a pen name, and I’d rather tell you than let you find out. Working in this sector under your full identity isn’t a neutral choice, and I’ve chosen to keep my legal name separate from my public byline.

What that doesn’t change: the byline is consistent, the contact address is real, and every claim published here points to a source you can open. You don’t have to take my word for anything — which is precisely the point of the method set out below.

How I work

I don’t invent experience I don’t have. My direct work is examining operators’ sites, their sign-up flow, their cashier page and their terms and conditions, then cross-checking every material point against a primary source: an official register, a certification laboratory, a public regulatory decision. I don’t play undercover with real money, and I don’t claim otherwise.

The seven criteria I apply and their exact weighting are published in the method behind every Trust Score. The responsible gambling criterion in particular draws on the framework set out on my responsible gambling page for Belgium. The operators I currently track are brought together in the comparison.

Independence: part of this site’s revenue comes from affiliate links. No operator can buy a score, a position or the removal of a finding. A casino that pays me can receive a bad score, and it does whenever the evidence warrants it.

Correcting me, contacting me

Mistakes remain possible, and regulation moves fast. If you find that something here is out of date or inaccurate, write to contact@casinaudit.com: verifiable corrections are applied quickly, with the change noted. Operators are welcome to use the same address to flag outdated data — but disagreeing with a score isn’t enough to change it; only evidence is.
